Senior Cisco FMC/FTD Engineer
Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a senior Cisco FMC/FTD Engineer in the Austin TX area
You'll help shape our Wide Area Network (WAN) Transport systems, directly impacting the well-being of Texans through reliable, secure infrastructure. We're seeking a expert with deep insights into advanced routing protocols, top-tier Electronic Access Control and Monitoring Systems (EACMS) network design, and the ability to produce high-quality design documentation. Our collaborative team excels at solving WAN challenges, fostering cross-organizational communication, and driving forward-thinking EACMS designs to support expansion.Key Responsibilities
- Formulate strategies, assessments, and proposals for capacity planning and architectural adjustments aligned with cybersecurity goals.
- Bolster the cybersecurity framework for Transport clients and explore tech advancements, encompassing network routing, Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), cybersecurity measures, and Cisco FTD firewalls.
- Leverage expertise in design, network tools (such as Cisco FMC, Splunk, and SolarWinds), and operational practices to build consistent solutions, emphasizing sustainable equipment lifecycle and seamless network performance.
- Spearhead the creation and documentation of architectural benchmarks for the EACMS network, centered on Cisco FMC/FTD frameworks.
- Track and evaluate system stability, compatibility, and uptime, offering architectural enhancements to boost reliability for essential mission- and business-critical EACMS networks.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7-10 years in network design and/or operations, or equivalent experience.
- Degrees in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline

- Familiarity with IT best practices, emerging technology trends, Cisco FTD firewall and FMC security implementations, enterprise-level operations, and crafting solutions that align with strategic business objectives.
