Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC/R systems and integrated control systems (ICS) throughout the base.
• Conduct regular inspections, operational testing, system balancing, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment such as chillers, air handlers, compressors, chilled water pumps, valve actuators, electronic dampers, temperature sensors, flow switches, fan coil units, CRAC units, and direct digital controls (DDC).
• Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable codes and regulations.
• Manage chemical water treatment programs for closed-loop HVAC systems, including chilled water systems.
• Operate a refrigerant recovery program in compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all inspections, maintenance, repairs, tests, and certifications.
• Follow all technical orders, company policies, and safety procedures, including OSHA and USAF requirements.
• Participate in ongoing training and maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
• Safeguard government and contractor property, including facilities, equipment, and tools.
• Accurately report work hours and complete timesheets as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support base operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in industrial chilled water systems and Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) systems.
• At least 5 years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment, including but not limited to: AquaForce Carrier chillers (air cooled, 80-300 tons), York chillers (air cooled, 80-300 tons), VRF split units (17-30 tons), Liebert CRAC units (chilled water/refrigerant types), Petra chillers/DX units (75-100 tons), Copeland refrigeration units, VFDs, and chilled water supply pumps.
• Completion of in-residence training for HVAC/R systems (documentation required).
• EPA 608 Universal Certification (Core, Type I, Type II, and Type III) required.
• U.S. citizenship with a current, valid U.S. passport.
• Active U.S. SECRET Security Clearance required prior to deployment.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Ability to pass flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge.
• Ability to meet employment and deployment qualification requirements, including psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, and background checks.
• Successful completion of CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) defense training, including fit testing of protective gear.
• Willingness to work primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor assignments as needed.
• Ability to work overtime and shift schedules as required.
• Preparedness to function in a wartime environment to support U.S. interests.
• 100% overseas assignment at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.

Compensation

Annual salary range: $105,000 – $110,000
