Data Operations Engineer

IDR is seeking a Data Operations Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Austin, TX. In this role, you will support the infrastructure and operational backbone behind enterprise data, analytics, and machine learning platforms within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. Youll help ensure these platforms are reliable, scalable, and observable across both batch and real-time workloads while partnering closely with engineering and product stakeholders.

Position Overview for the Data Operations Engineer:

• Provision, scale, and maintain enterprise data, analytics, and ML infrastructure across cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
• Support batch and real-time data pipelines, frameworks, tools, and services to ensure production reliability
• Build automation and self-service tooling to improve engineering efficiency and operational consistency
• Develop monitoring, alerting, observability, and self-healing capabilities for distributed data systems
• Lead troubleshooting and production incident resolution while enabling zero-downtime deployments through CI/CD practices

Requirements for the Data Operations Engineer:

• 69+ years of experience in Data, Platform, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering with a focus on operating data/analytics platforms in production
• Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including running and troubleshooting distributed systems
• Proven experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines for reliable, repeatable deployments
• Expertise with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform, for provisioning and managing infrastructure
• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language such as Python, Go, Java, or Scala, plus experience with observability/monitoring and incident management
