Staff Accountant

POSITION: Staff Accountant

JOB FUNCTION: Financial Reporting / General Accounting
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance team with day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate general ledger records. This role ensures compliance with accounting principles and company policies and supports month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments/collections.
- Utilize financial software to manage financial data effectively.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial management initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to guide company strategy.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all financial transactions.
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Perform financial review of sub-consultants and contractors for Clients.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform the audit.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
- 2 years+ Accounting experience required
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Extensive knowledge of financial accounting
- Proficiency in financial software applications
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization
- Bilingual in English and Chinese required.
