Job Details
  • Handle insurance coverage, reinsurance, and insurance defense matters for insurers and insureds across litigation, arbitration, and related proceedings
  • Analyze and interpret policy language, including insuring agreements, exclusions, limitations, endorsements, and other coverage provisions
  • Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, disclaimer letters, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
  • Advise clients on first-party and third-party coverage disputes, declaratory judgment actions, subrogation matters, and regulatory issues
  • Manage complex matters involving catastrophic losses, business interruption, environmental claims, toxic tort, fraud-related claims, cyber losses, energy sector risks, and specialty coverage lines
  • Handle discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
  • Represent insurers and insureds in defense matters involving bodily injury, property damage, construction accidents, premises liability, product liability, and indemnification disputes
  • Communicate directly with clients, provide coverage analysis and strategic advice, and manage multiple matters from early case assessment through resolution
Looking For:

  • J.D. and admitted to practice in applicable state
  • Recent insurance coverage litigation experience
  • Strong background in first-party and third-party coverage disputes, declaratory judgment actions, and coverage analysis
  • Experience drafting coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
  • Hands-on experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, trial preparation, and court proceedings
  • Familiarity with complex claims involving catastrophic losses, environmental matters, toxic tort, or specialty coverage lines is a plus
  • Experience at a firm with a dedicated insurance or reinsurance practice is preferred
