THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic HRIS Coordinator - Temporary with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.
To put it simply, you will work on a team to manage the onboarding process for new hires and status changes.
THE ROLE When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
- Responding to email inquiries from a variety of constituents, including current employees, managers, candidates, new hires, former employees, external entities, etc. in a professional and timely fashion;
- Complete I‑9 verifications and meetings; employment and income verifications; loan verifications; and service record processing for new, current, and departing employees in alignment with organizational policies and TEA‑established deadlines and guidance.
- Support contractor management processes, including maintaining accurate contractor records, assisting with documentation review, reviewing background checks, and partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure contractors meet eligibility and compliance requirements.
- Provide outreach and onboarding support for new hires starting in the upcoming fiscal year, including responding to pre‑start inquiries, supporting documentation needs, and assisting with readiness for employment.
- Executing and assisting on a variety of work projects and processes to meet department and organizational goals;
- Supporting with data auditing of employee records to ensure that we remain in compliance with federal and state laws;
- Ensuring employee folders are accurate and aligned to organizational policies and procedures;
- Additional duties as assigned.

MUST HAVES
- 0-2 years of professional experience in a human resource, administrative, or operations focused role
- Comfort using computer application systems and programs
- Self-starter who is hungry to grow and learn in an HR professional setting
- Effective communicator in both written and oral form, with excellent clarity and grammar
- Attention to detail and thoroughly checks work products
- Ability to use your time, energy, and resources in an effective way
- Doesn’t spill the beans on the highest level of confidential matters
- Embody a “whatever it takes” spirit and ability to be flexible when priorities adjust on a quick timeline

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Experience with Human Resources, Benefits, or Payroll systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft programs

Compensation – This position is a non-exempt, hourly position; hourly rates commensurate with experience.
