3-yo Classroom Teacher Needed for Nonprofit Preschool
About Us:
At Open Door Preschool, we believe children learn best through play, curiosity, and connection. As a play-based and accredited program, our goal is to nurture the whole child —supporting each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Our classrooms are joyful, engaging spaces where children are encouraged to explore their world, express themselves, and take the lead in their learning journey.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate, energetic, and reflective Three-Year-Old Teacher to join our teaching team. The ideal candidate values play as the foundation for learning, sees each child as capable and curious, and fosters social-emotional development through meaningful interactions and responsive care.
Responsibilities:
Create a warm, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where children feel respected, supported, and empowered.
Plan and implement child-led, play-based experiences that promote exploration, problem-solving, creativity, and independence.
Support the whole child by integrating social-emotional learning into daily routines and play.
Observe, document, and reflect on children’s development to inform curriculum planning and family communication.
Collaborate with co-teachers to design engaging, responsive learning experiences that follow children’s interests.
Build strong, trusting relationships with families through open communication and partnership.
Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to maintaining NAEYC accreditation standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or working toward one) is preferred.
Experience working with toddlers in an early childhood or play-based setting.
Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice, social-emotional learning, and child-led education.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and reflective teaching practices.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
What We Offer:
Supportive, collaborative teaching community
Opportunities for continued professional growth and learning

Competitive pay ($15 - $21) and benefits package (Health, dental, vision, disability)
