Job Description
Link Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Engineer/Agile Lead to join our team at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have DoD Secret Clearance
- Non-remote (relocation incentive available)
Our Senior Data Engineer/Agile Lead will be critical in supporting the III Armored Corps (IIIAC) at Fort Hood, Texas. You will lead the design, deployment, and evolution of enterprise-level data capture, manage functional teams, deliver iterative value, and drive continuous improvement. This role ensures database availability, disaster recovery readiness, and secure data access within a dynamic IT infrastructure. Ideal candidates will have deep experience managing Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases in secure environments, with a strong focus on compliance with DoD data handling policies.

Job Responsibilities:
- Data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration across diverse systems and sources.
- Design, develop, and implement scalable data warehouse architecture in the Cloud using Microsoft Power Platform, SQL Server, Azure, and AWS.
- Process scripting to streamline operations, reduce manual tasks, automate data refreshes, and provide summary reports on performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain on-premises data gateways to securely connect on-premise data and cloud-based data.
- Monitor database performance and perform index tuning, optimization, and query analysis.
- Develop and enforce backup/recovery procedures, ensuring disaster recovery compliance.
- Manage database user access, roles, and encryption aligned with DoD STIGs.
- Support the automation of database refresh and replication processes.
- Maintain documentation on schema design, configurations, SOPs, and access controls.

Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Possess an IAT Level II certification or higher in accordance with DoD 8570/8140 (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CISSP, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
- Minimum of four (4+) years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or in a related technical role.
- Experience working with cloud and database platforms, including AWS, Azure, SQL Server, and Oracle.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power BI and Power Automate.
- Proficient in scripting and automation using PowerShell and T-SQL.
- Experience with backup solutions such as Rubrik and NetBackup.
- Skilled in using performance monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer (DPA).
- Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including AlwaysOn and Oracle RAC.
Preferred:
- Active DoD Security Clearance.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT field.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
- ITIL Foundation.
- Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
- A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
