Field Coordinator
primary on-site procurement interface, working closely with Project Engineers and contractors to ensure scopes of work are clearly defined, RFQs are well structured, and procurement activities are executed efficiently.
This position plays a critical role in improving early procurement involvement, strengthening scope clarity, and reducing change orders during project execution. It is a great opportunity for a field-oriented professional to transition into procurement while developing commercial and sourcing skills within a dynamic industrial environment.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with Project Engineers to review, validate, and clarify scopes of work prior to procurement
- Close collaboration with a centralized procurement team supporting sourcing strategy and negotiations
- Conduct field walkdowns to fully understand project requirements, site conditions, and constraints
- Prepare, coordinate, and issue RFQs to contractors and vendors
- Ensure bids are complete, aligned with scope, and easily comparable
- Support basic commercial evaluations and bid analysis
- Coordinate with a centralized procurement team supporting negotiations and contracting strategy
- Maintain procurement documentation and ensure compliance with internal processes
- Act as a liaison between field operations, engineering, and procurement teams
- Hands-on, field-oriented professional with strong organizational and communication skills, comfortable working in an industrial environment and collaborating closely with engineers and contractors
- 3–7 years of experience in construction, industrial maintenance, or project environments
- Experience working with contractors, scopes of work, or field execution
- Exposure to procurement, estimating, or commercial activities is a plus
- Strong field presence and ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholder
- Ability to understand, question, and refine scopes of work
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Commercial mindset with interest in developing procurement skills
- Comfortable working in an industrial/terminal environment
- This is an onsite role based in Freeport, TX
- Strong opportunity to transition from field/construction into procurement and develop commercial expertise
