Job Title: Accounting Position - AP, Job Costing, AR, and Progress Billing
Location: Houston, TX
Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing and processing weekly check runs.
2. Job Costing:
- Collaborate with project managers to gather cost information.
- Track and allocate project costs to the appropriate accounts.
- Maintain accurate job cost records and reports.
- Assist in preparing job cost analysis and reports.
3. Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments.
- Collaborate with sales and project teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Reconcile customer accounts and process adjustments when necessary.
4. Progress Billing :
- Work closely with project managers to understand project milestones.
- Prepare and submit progress billings to clients according to contractual terms.
- Maintain accurate records of progress billing activities.
- Address client inquiries related to billing and invoicing.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or in a similar role.
2. Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes.
3. Familiarity with job costing principles and practices.
4. Proficiency in using accounting software.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
6. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
9. Basic understanding of relevant accounting regulations and compliance.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
