Job Description
This role supports the construction and testing of commercial office space rooms by performing hands-on building, material handling, and basic maintenance tasks. The technician uses hand and power tools to assemble test walls, assists mechanics and maintenance personnel, and completes general labor and cleaning duties to keep the worksite safe, organized, and ready for testing activities.
Responsibilities
- Build and assemble commercial office space test rooms according to provided instructions and measurements.
- Move materials around the site and set up test areas as directed.
- Use hand tools such as hammers and wrenches to set up and build walls for tests.
- Secure structures by screwing in fasteners and holding walls and materials in place during assembly.
- Perform general labor duties as assigned to support construction and testing activities.
- Use tape measures and levels to ensure accurate measurements and proper alignment.
- Stand, lift, carry, and hold materials in place for extended periods as needed for construction tasks.
- Clean the work site regularly, including sweeping, debris removal, and maintaining a tidy workspace.
- Perform basic data entry and documentation, including writing legibly on forms or logs.
- Clean grounds, including outdoor areas, to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Organize parts and supplies so that materials and tools are easy to find and access.
- Take out trash and dispose of waste materials in designated areas.
- Clean machines and equipment as directed to support smooth operations.
- Assist mechanics and maintenance technicians as needed with basic tasks and setups.
- Work overtime when requested to support project timelines and workload demands.
- Work outdoors when required to complete construction, cleaning, or maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills
- Basic building and carpentry skills, including measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
- Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, tape measures, and levels safely and effectively.
- Comfort working in construction or general labor environments, including standing, lifting, and carrying materials.
- Ability to perform basic data entry and documentation and write legibly on forms or logs.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors as needed.
- Comfort performing general labor tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and trash removal.
- Ability to follow instructions from a lead person or supervisor and work independently on smaller tasks.
- Reliability to work scheduled hours from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Carpentry or welding experience is beneficial.
- Experience with construction, general labor, or maintenance technician work is an advantage.
- Familiarity with power tools used in commercial or construction environments.
- Experience supporting mechanics or maintenance teams in an industrial or facilities setting.
- Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment and in multiple buildings on site.

Work Environment
The role is based in a non-climate-controlled setting, working across several different buildings on site. You will perform tasks both indoors and outdoors, depending on project needs. The dress code requires steel-toe boots, work pants or jeans, and a shirt with sleeves, with the expectation that clothing will get dirty due to the nature of the work. You will work alongside a lead person or supervisor and may occasionally work independently on smaller tasks. Standard hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime available as needed, and you can generally expect around 40 hours most weeks.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $14.00 - $15.00/hr.
