Material and Supply Yard Assistant

JMS Turning Point Division, is currently seeking a Material and Supply Yard Assistant for one of our customers in the Pearsall, TX area . These are full-time positions with competitive salary and benefits available.

Job Responsibilities for Material and Supply Yard Assistant:

• Must be a dependable, motivated, punctual team player
• Good communication skills required with the ability to be a spotter and have the communication skills necessary to perform safe work in a laydown yard
• Responsible for material accountability (receive, identify, inspect, cycle count, record), unloading and/or shipping materials and supplies in storage yard and warehouse by checking received material for quantity and visually inspect for identity, breakage and condition
• Pick up, haul and deliver materials and operating company automotive equipment
• Unload and put away material while documenting irregularities and abnormal conditions
• Identify, sort and record material returned - prepare and pack material for shipment or storage
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklift trucks or any other equipment as required (Case 821 or JLG Telehandler)
• Rearrange or change of bins & racks and make material location changes in laydown yards
• Keeping accurate inventory of all inbound and outbound shipments, checking the packing slips with the material that has arrived.

Job Requirements for Material and Supply Yard Assistant :

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License with Clean MVR required
• Physical Ability Test (PAT) test required
• Complete daily tasks in accordance with company safety rules, operating regulations and practice
• Construction, warehouse, staging yard experience strongly preferred
• Experience operating Frontend loaders, Telehandlers, All-Terrain Vehicles and Forklifts strongly preferred
• Able to lift up to 70lbs repetitively and stand for entire shift
• Able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and within all weather patterns
• Able to work any shifts, including weekends and holidays required
• Ability to pass background and drug & alcohol testing required

Dress Code & PPE Requirements for Material and Supply Yard Assistant :

• Steel Toe Boots Required
• Jeans & t-shirt/sweatshirt (no inappropriate words or pictures)
• All other PPE is provided
