Software QA Tester
Software QA Tester
ShipperHQ is looking for a Software QA Tester who’s passionate about quality, precision, and continuous improvement. If you’re excited to dig into complex systems, identify issues before users do, and help deliver a reliable, high-performing product to thousands of e-commerce businesses, we’d love to hear from you.
About Us:
ShipperHQ is headquartered in Austin, TX, and is transforming the way e-commerce businesses manage shipping. Since 2009, we’ve provided innovative shipping software that helps both SMBs and enterprise customers optimize their operations and achieve better results. Our team members span the globe, and we’re united by a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and impact. We’re looking for ambitious, self-motivated individuals with a positive attitude who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and are excited to help shape the future of e-commerce shipping.
What You’ll Do:
As a Software QA Tester, you’ll be at the center of ensuring that every product release meets our high standards for quality and performance. You’ll collaborate with developers, product managers, and automation engineers to deliver a smooth and reliable user experience.
- Test and validate: Execute manual test cases to identify defects, verify functionality, and confirm that products meet business requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Product and Development to understand requirements, clarify expected outcomes, and ensure test coverage aligns with user needs.
- Document and track issues: Clearly record test results, defects, and steps to reproduce, ensuring efficient communication and follow-up with the dev team.
- Contribute to strategy: Participate in test planning, design, and improvement discussions to refine our QA processes.
- Bridge manual and automated testing: Work closely with automation testers to identify test cases for automation and continuously improve efficiency.
- Support CI/CD efforts: Use GitLab to deploy, test, and validate builds in our cloud environments.
- Drive quality: Share insights and advocate for process enhancements that improve release reliability and user experience.
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Experience
- ISTQB or similar testing certification (preferred, not required)
- Hands-on experience executing and analyzing test automation frameworks
- Ability to write moderately complex SQL queries (MySQL or similar)
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with container frameworks (Docker) and Unix/Linux shell
- Experience using Git or other version control systems
- Working knowledge of CI/CD platforms such as GitLab or Bitbucket
Who You Are
- Analytical and detail-oriented with a natural curiosity to uncover issues before they reach users
- Strong communicator who fosters collaboration and clarity within fast-paced teams
- Proactive problem solver who thrives in dynamic, evolving environments
- Positive and adaptable — you take ownership of challenges and turn them into opportunities for improvement
If you meet most but not all qualifications, we encourage you to apply. We value potential and learning agility.
Why ShipperHQ?
This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days are the same. For the right candidate with the right attitude, there are exceptional opportunities for career growth. Our agile team rolls up its sleeves to tackle some of the biggest challenges in e-commerce shipping. Benefits and Perks:
- Collaborate with a motivated team, directly tying your results to organizational success
- 22 days of PTO plus public holidays
- 401k Match
