Associate Compliance Program Manager (Legal)

The Institutional Compliance department at MD Anderson Cancer Center plays a critical role in ensuring the organization operates with integrity, accountability, and adherence to regulatory and legal standards. This team partners closely with attorneys, leadership, and stakeholders across the institution to support compliance investigations, manage operational processes, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

This Associate Compliance Program Manager role offers the opportunity to work in a highly visible, fast-paced environment , directly supporting attorneys and compliance leadership on complex, sensitive matters. This position is ideal for someone with experience supporting legal or compliance teams who thrives in structured, detail-oriented work and can manage multiple priorities with precision.

In this role, you will coordinate key operational and investigative activities , including organizing materials for compliance investigations, scheduling and facilitating meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting government or regulatory inquiries. You will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and compliance teams, serving as a central point of coordination to ensure all activities are executed efficiently and accurately.

A significant component of this role involves vendor and financial management , including overseeing the full lifecycle of vendor contracts, processing invoices, tracking departmental spend, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. You will also support budgeting activities, reconcile accounts, and generate financial reports, requiring strong attention to detail and familiarity with financial systems and processes.

You will provide high-level administrative and operational support to department leadership , including managing complex calendars, coordinating meetings and events, preparing correspondence and materials, and supporting program operations. Your ability to stay organized, manage competing deadlines, and maintain strict confidentiality is essential, particularly when handling sensitive legal and compliance-related information.

This role also requires strong program coordination and communication skills , as you will serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders, leadership, and external partners. You will help drive program initiatives forward, support project execution, and ensure alignment across teams.

Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise independent judgment in a deadline-driven environment. Functions

Program Operations:

• Coordinate materials and efforts for complex and high-risk compliance investigations, including exhibit binders, interviews with witnesses/subjects, and external counsel or expert coordination.
• Support government and regulatory inquiries related to ongoing compliance matters.
• Manage the full vendor lifecycle process, including contract coordination, invoice submission, tracking spend, and ensuring timely payment in accordance with institutional and state guidelines.
• Provide direct administrative and operational support to investigative attorneys.
• Serve as a liaison between institutional offices, leadership, UTS, and other stakeholders.
• Act as a central point of coordination for program stakeholders, facilitating meetings, resolving issues, and supporting program execution.
• Coordinate stakeholder activities to support implementation and administration of program objectives.
• Develop, edit, and manage program-related materials and documentation.
• Support specialized programmatic activities aligned with compliance initiatives.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Financial Management:

• Monitor department financial activity using institutional systems (e.g., OBIEE).
• Track, reconcile, and report on departmental expenses and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Process expense reports and reimbursements, ensuring timely submission and proper documentation through systems such as Concur.
• Provide accounting support including ProCard purchases, reconciliations, purchase orders (PeopleSoft), invoice review, and expense tracking.
• Support financial-related special projects and additional duties as needed.

Executive Job Functions:

• Serve as a primary communication contact for department leadership.
• Manage complex calendars, meetings, and scheduling for department leaders, including coordinating conferences, trainings, and events.
• Prepare, edit, and proofread correspondence, reports, presentations, and other materials.
• Plan and coordinate special events, meetings, and departmental activities.
• Analyze and evaluate program operations and recommend improvements where appropriate.
• Maintain and manage highly confidential information related to legal, regulatory, and personnel matters with the highest level of discretion.

EDUCATION

• Required: Bachelor's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Required: 5 years Experience in project or program coordination, including administrative support to senior leadership or executive-level positions. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis.
