Director of Accounting

From site selection to data center construction and operations, Stream develops wholesale colocation capacity and build-to-suit facilities for hyperscale and enterprise users in major markets across the United States. Additionally, Stream sources and develops low-risk land sites for optimum data center development and provides energy procurement services with a focus on reducing market risk and providing low-cost renewable energy options.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Stream Data Centers is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Director of Accounting to join our dynamic team. As the Director of Accounting, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations while supporting our diverse portfolio that spans major markets. This position requires a forward-thinking leader who can navigate the complexities of accounting within our fast-paced industry and support our vision of providing exceptional service to our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including the preparation and review of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and treasury management.
- Interpret and implement new technical accounting standards as needed. Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency across the organization.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support corporate financial planning and decision-making processes.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for financial improvement.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
- Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit experience.
- Assist with the design, implementation and monitoring of internal controls and ensure adherence to corporate governance and accounting standards.
Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the internet or technology industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining accuracy in financial reporting.
- Proficient in Netsuite, Microsoft Excel, and treasury management systems with the ability to adapt to new technology quickly.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
- MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

The pay range for this role is between $130,000 – 150,000 (base). Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons. Stream Data Centers offers annual bonus, benefits, flexible time off (vacation), 401k and a variety of other perks and benefits.
