Project Manager – Renewable Energy Construction

We are currently seeking a high-caliber Project Manager – Renewable Energy Construction for a direct-hire opportunity with our client’s team of experienced professionals. This role will begin on a project in New Mexico , with a planned transition to Texas-based projects upon completion, offering continuity and long-term project exposure. Plan, organize, and supervise the Project construction process, according to the Construction Director guidelines, project schedules, milestones, and critical paths, while adhering to all applicable U.S. federal, state, and local regulations as well as QHSE standards. The objective is to successfully deliver EPC construction projects within established targets, deadlines, and budget requirements. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Analyze project documents, technical reports, budgets, proposals, and engineering deliverables to plan construction phases and resource allocation;
- Review contract specifications (milestones, LDs, performance guarantees) to define execution strategy and ensure compliance;
- Partner with Construction Managers and Site Teams to establish execution plans, critical paths, and proactively mitigate risks while adhering to OSHA, AHJ, utility, and QHSE standards;
- Support the development and management of schedules, budgets, procurement tracking, and reporting to identify deviations and implement corrective actions;
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and our client’s customers, providing updates on progress, risks, procurement, and commissioning readiness;
- Develop reporting systems, dashboards, and workflows aligned with continuous improvement (Kaizen) practices;
- Track and manage NCRs, RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and commissioning issues;
- Partner with HR and internal teams to support compliance and workforce programs;
- Ensure adherence to quality and HSE programs in line with OSHA and internal standards;
- Lead and develop project teams, fostering a positive, performance-driven environment;
- Coordinate with Procurement and Logistics to resolve material delivery issues and mitigate supply risks;
- Maintain accurate project data in SAP and scheduling/cost systems;
- Monitor cost and production performance, forecast trends, and implement corrective actions;
- Oversee invoicing, earned value reporting, and subcontractor billing;
- Participate in regular client and stakeholder meetings to communicate project status and risks;
- Ensure alignment with updated budgets, forecasts, and financial targets;
- Coordinate with Engineering on RFIs, design clarifications, and value-engineering opportunities;
- Provide daily leadership and operational oversight of project teams;
- Submit client-facing payment applications with proper documentation;
- Monitor overall performance across safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction;
- Maintain an active presence onsite as required;
- Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with profitability goals.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent experience).
Experience
5+ years of experience in similar roles supporting U.S.-based, utility-scale renewable energy construction projects preferred.
Training
- OSHA 30 required (OSHA 10 acceptable for onboarding)
- NCCER, PMP, or similar certifications preferred
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) – Required
- MS Project / Primavera P6 – Required
- AutoCAD / Bluebeam – Required
- SAP – Preferred
- Procore or similar EPC tools – Required
- Strong leadership, planning, and coordination skills – Required
- Excellent communication skills – Required
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Willingness to travel and temporarily relocate for projects (New Mexico → Texas)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in outdoor project environments (heat, cold, noise, extended standing/walking)
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, AHJ permitting, utility coordination, and EPC workflows
