Accountant

MEISON is a collection of high-end and luxury women’s apparel brands including Jones New York, Misook, Ming Wang, and Kasper. Our brands are found online, through specialty boutiques, and in stores with our various retail partners such as Neiman Marcus, Saks 5 th Avenue, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Dillard’s.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an Accountant with general accounting and bookkeeping knowledge to support our team. We’re looking for someone with skills such as attention to detail, strong organization and handling administrative tasks. This position will be reporting to the Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities:

• Record and reconcile incoming funds from customers
• Reconcile returns and credit appropriate customer accounts
• Prepare journal entries
• Resolve credit card disputes
• Verify vendor bills
• Process sales invoices
• Perform account reconciliations
• Perform month-end closing
• Support year-end closing
• Comply with financial policies and regulations

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field preferred
• Accounting and bookkeeping experience is a plus
• General understanding of accounting and financial principles
• Proficient in Excel
• Attention to detail and accuracy, organized and willing to learn
• Composition and office skills to include correspondence creation, routine emails, filing, and assistance in the preparation of reports and other materials
