In Room Dining Coordinator (Part - Time)

Job summary –
Responsible for all functions involved in the processing of a guest check from room service, restaurant, etc. Taking the guest orders over the phone and communicating it through the proper channels. Monitor pool activity. Coordinate shift responsibilities with captains and servers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
• Answer room service phones; take the guest's order, all according to standards. Relate the order to the Room Service Captain.
• Comprehend and describe all menus.
• Understand the process of accepting credit cards, personal checks, cash, etc.
• Must be able to handle the balancing his/her daily paperwork which includes a fair amount of accounting comprehensibility.
• Process checks from the various Food and Beverage outlets.
• Process all void and comp checks correctly.
• Maintain his/her bank to a minimum discrepancy.

Other Standard Responsibilities –
Experience -
• Minimum of one year of cash handling experience
• Previous customer service experience
General Skills -
• Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
Technical Skills -
• Basic accounting skills;
• Able to work 10-key, POS system, computer systems, multi-lime phone system.
• Knowledge of the Micros system helpful.
• Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
• Ability to communicate with staff and guests.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Proficient in Excel helpful
• Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc.
• Must be able to communicate with the guest effectively
Education or Certification -
• High school diploma or equivalent
Language -
• Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred
Physical Requirements -
• Must be able to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
