Construction Laborer III

McCarthy Building Companies is looking for an experienced Laborer 3 for an exciting healthcare project in Austin, TX. The Laborer supports the completion of projects by assisting carpenters, and other trades professionals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and carries out site project logistics plan (clean up, material storage, water pumping etc.) and safety procedures 
• completes Task Hazard Analysis (THA) logs daily  
• Operates small construction equipment (10k-12k all-terrain forklift, skid steer, sweeper etc.) 
• Assist with traffic control, rigging, spotting, flagging, fire watch etc.  
• Dewater equipment set up 
• Utilize common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools (hammer, shovel, water pump, hammer drill, saw, demolition hammer, etc.) 
• Complete space and fall arrest training  
• Assist other trades when necessary 

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ year of experience as a laborer in large commercial construction projects 
• Identify common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools 
• Understand construction terminology 
• Work in an organized manner 
• Proven commitment to Safety 
• Able to work night shifts when needed 
• Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site 
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions 
• Must be self-motivated and can work well with others 
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency 
• Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds 
• Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces 
• Minimum age 18+ 
• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
