Physician, Physiatrist with EDRP (Amarillo)

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.

Duties

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until December 30, 2025, or until positions are filled . The first cut-off date is August 28, 2025 . Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur.

Role Summary:

The PM&Rs Service staff physiatrist reports to the Chief, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service (PM&RS). Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient musculoskeletal and neuromuscular examinations, diagnoses, and treatments emphasizing restoration of function. The physiatrist collaborates with a team to develop comprehensive rehabilitation programs for patients with electromyography, amputations, spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, musculoskeletal and neuromuscular impairments, and chronic pain syndromes.
