Job Summary:?
The Project Engineer is responsible for performing the function and role of Project Manager for assigned projects. This includes full responsibility for project budget, schedule, and scope, as well as oversight of design, procurement, contract awards, field erection, training, startup, and commissioning. The Project Engineer provides leadership and technical support across departments to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while aligning with plant strategies and compliance requirements.

As a Project Engineer, You Will:

• Serve as Project Manager for assigned projects, assuming responsibility for budget, schedule, and scope, and overseeing all phases of project execution-from design through commissioning.
• Assist Corporate Engineering in defining project scopes and evaluating the feasibility of future capital and in-plant projects.
• Lead and coordinate contractors working in the plant, ensuring safe and efficient project execution.
• Provide technical support for projects involving scope definition, design, startup, troubleshooting, and evaluation of new or modified processes.
• Support process startup, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation for new processes developed through capital or in-plant projects.
• Assist the Maintenance Department in daily activities and in managing equipment and personnel to ensure operational effectiveness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by optimizing safety, product quality, efficiency, and cost.
• Assist in departmental strategic planning, aligning objectives with overall plant and corporate goals.
• Ensure compliance with environmental standards and reporting requirements in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Communicate regularly with department supervisors regarding the status, progress, and issues of all ongoing projects.
• Maintain quality system documentation and act as the management representative for the quality system when required.
• Initiate and verify corrective actions to improve quality, safety, and efficiency across operations.
• Support the ongoing safety program by implementing and upholding established safety policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate leadership and plant knowledge when interacting with internal teams and contractors.
• Complete all assigned tasks accurately and within established timeframes.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline required
• 3 or more years of relevant experience as a Project Engineer, as well experience within whatever industry that company operates

Salary Range: $70K-$75K annually DOE
