Stoney Brook Hewitt is seeking a Full-time Sous Chef to continue our story of compassionately caring for our residents. As a full-time Sous Chef you will be assisting the Food Services Director to help with the operation of the Food Services department.

Shifts:
- 10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m.
- Rotation of 4 days on 2 days off.
- Includes weekend and holiday shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services to produce diversified menus in accordance with the Communitys policy and vision.
- Establish the work schedule and organize work in the kitchen so that all tasks are accomplished efficiently and with excellence.
- Produce high quality dishes that follow the established menu and standards.
- Train the kitchen staff to achieve the best for the nutrition and enjoyment of our residents.
- Prepares or assists in preparation of complete meals preparing and cooking soups meats gravies vegetables desserts salads baked goods accordance with menus and recipes.
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Requirements:
- Three to five years proven experience as a cook or 1 years as a Sous Chef.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling baking boiling etc.) equipment and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
- High School diploma or GED required training from a culinary school preferred.
- Ability to speak read & write English.
- Must be willing to undergo a routine background check.
