The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for recording, analyzing, and reporting financial reports. This includes preparing entries to accounts, reconciling balances, fixed asset reporting, investment reporting, and creating reports within accounting systems. Key Responsibilities: - Analyzes financial information to determine accuracy of account balances, financial postings, and calculations; investigates and resolves discrepancies.
- Performs a variety of accounting tasks for the bank and its affiliates including but not limited to preparing journal entries, reconciling various balance sheet accounts, processing, and reconciling interfacing sub-systems to the general ledger, and preparing analysis based on financial results.
- Supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including annual audited financial statements.
- Research accounting rules and regulations and make recommendations for improving company policy and procedures.
- Contributes to the preparation of presentations of monthly results for the bank and its affiliates to management as part of the month-end cycle.
Competencies Required: - Self-starter who uses time effectively and efficiently meeting required deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail and concern for data accuracy.
- Solid technology abilities, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and database applications.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks and/or Dynamics AX preferred.
- Knowledge of financial, accounting principles including U.S. GAAP.
- Capable of performing accounting research and presenting real-time solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills that include the ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications/Experience: - 2+ years' experience in a senior level accountant, finance, or auditor role required.
- 5+ years in public accounting, banking or financial services preferred.
- Microsoft Dynamics/AX experience preferred.
- QuickBooks experience preferred.
Formal Education & Certification: - Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, OR Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing, required.
Work Status: - Full-Time.
Supervisory Responsibility: - None.
Travel: - 5% travel expected.
Working Conditions: - Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.
