About the Role:
As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive experience from the moment they enter the establishment. Your primary objective is to manage guest flow efficiently, ensuring timely seating and minimizing wait times while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. You will coordinate with the service and kitchen teams to optimize table turnover and accommodate special requests or reservations. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and resolve any guest concerns promptly. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute significantly to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the hospitality venue.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic proficiency with reservation and point-of-sale systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as a host or hostess in a restaurant or similar hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with multiple reservation management software platforms.
- Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of local dining and entertainment options to provide recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage the seating process to ensure an organized and efficient flow.
- Maintain an accurate waitlist and provide guests with estimated wait times, updating them as necessary.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize table assignments and accommodate special requests or reservations.
- Answer phone calls to take reservations, provide information about the venue, and address guest inquiries.
- Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and entrance area.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required, including setting up the host area and preparing for service.
