SUMMARY : We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Controller to oversee all aspects of financial processing, including general ledger accounting, balance sheet activity, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the company's financial health through effective cash and resource management. While the position is remote, Texas residency is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : (Responsibilities include, but not limited to)
- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, financial reporting, and cash management.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the relationship with the external accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate collaboration.
- Support audits (financial, vendor, bank, and payor) and serve as back up administrator/approver for all banking systems.
- Monitor cash flow by analyzing collection and spending patterns; provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Ensure timely renewal and compliance of all business insurance policies and required licenses.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts and annual budgets.
- Continuously evaluate and improve internal controls, processes, and documentation.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Accepts other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes for public companies and/or entities with $150M-$500M in revenue.
- Proficient in accounting systems and tools (e.g., Sage, Bill.com, Ramp).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; solid knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing internal teams and external partners.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standard office environment.
- Frequent use of keyboard and computer.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business area of study.
- 5+ years of accounting experience in accounting.
