QMHP-CS II/Counselor LPHA YCOT

Performs mental health services for children and adolescents experiencing crisis. Work involves conducting crisis interviews and clinical assessments; site-crisis coverage for referrals and, provision of continuity of care to referred mental health individuals in crisis. Works under moderate supervision of the Supervisor with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment in carrying out details of the work.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
  • Provides on-site crisis assessments and develops intervention plans.
  • Provides crisis counseling and support as deemed necessary.
  • Coordinates referrals to community-based providers
  • Provides crisis assessments in the community including hospitals.
  • Prepares progress notes and other required documentation.
Experience and Training
  • Requires successful experience in providing mental health services for persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses, a working knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, psychosocial assessments, and crisis intervention.
  • Must be a licensure candidate or fully licensed LPHA.
  • Preferred applicant be in clinical supervision for licensure, obtaining hours for clinical licensure.
  • Preferred one year case management experience.
Education

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree with a major in behavioral, social sciences, humanities, or education, as well as full licensure as a LCSW, LPC, and/or LMFT or be actively working toward licensure is required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of mental illness and emotional components of physical illness; psychiatric diagnosis, psychosocial assessments, and crisis intervention.
  • Demonstrated skill in interviewing and reporting results of interviews.
  • Considerable ability to work cooperatively and effectively with professional personnel (i.e. jail staff, etc); to exercise tact, initiate, and good judgment in dealing with clients and relatives; to prepare reports and make recommendations for administrative use; to speak and write effectively; to relate to people and to interact with consumers.
  • As an employee of the Center, it is my duty, at all times, to incorporate the principles of Trauma-Informed Care, which includes cultural sensitivity, throughout the Center, emphasizing a safe and respectful environment for all clients and staff.
  • Must be able to transport clients and travel locally 60% Regional travel 40%.
  • Ability of lift up to 15lbs.
  • Must have ability and knowledge to do clinical documentation.
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have and maintain a level of general health that permits the performance of job duties.

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Salary : $48,150-$64,000 Hourly $23.1490-$30.7692 Depending on Experience and Licensure
