Head of Product & Technology
About Storgate
Storgate is a multi-family office headquartered in Dallas, with team members across the country, built around a simple premise: the most complex families in the world deserve the best advisors in the business — not assigned to them, but built around them.
The founders have spent their careers at the center of some of the most sophisticated financial ecosystems — ultra-high-net-worth families, multigenerational family offices, and closely held family enterprises with reach across industries and generations. Collectively, they bring more than a century of experience navigating the full spectrum of private wealth: investment management, estate and tax planning, alternative investments, bill pay and bookkeeping, and fiduciary services. They are not generalists who grew into complexity; this has been their life's work.
Now they are building the team to match that ambition. Storgate is deliberately assembling a bench of professionals whose depth and range of experience mirrors the complexity of the families they serve — people who bring expertise across disciplines, perspectives shaped by different corners of the industry, and the kind of institutional knowledge that compounds over time. Storgate is a firm that can meet any need a client has today and still be the right answer for the next generation when that moment comes.
What Is Storgate 360°
Storgate 360° is a proprietary platform that gives families a single, unified control of their entire financial life. Liquid and illiquid investments across multiple custodians, estate plans, trust structures, tax documents, bill pay, bookkeeping, alternative deal flow, and secure document storage — consolidated into one experience, personalized for each family.
This is the type of experience that clients at this level should expect from their wealth management firm but rarely find. For most families, financial visibility is an exercise in assembly — portals, spreadsheets, and documents that never quite speak to one another. 360° eliminates that. It presents a complete, curated picture of a family’s financial world in one place, maintained and interpreted by a team that understands what they’re looking at.
The experience is comprehensive, even if it isn't yet seamless. Every component exists. Every capability is live. What Storgate is building toward is the layer that ties it together — a single, unified view of everything, purpose-built for the complexity of the families they serve. Our vision of this product doesn't exist in the market yet. Storgate is building it and this hire is the one who gets it across the finish line.
The Role
This is a crucial technology leadership hire. You'll own the technical vision, architecture, and execution of the 360° platform, working directly with the co-founder who leads the initiative to translate business vision into a product that delivers on that promise.
You're the bridge between what the firm needs the platform to do and the engineering team that builds it. You make the architecture decisions. You write the product requirements. You set technical standards. You determine what gets built in-house, what gets integrated, and what gets partnered on. You manage and hold the engineering team accountable for quality, timelines, and architectural integrity.
This is an early-stage role at a firm that moves fast. No legacy bureaucracy. No layers of approval. If you want to build something meaningful from the ground up alongside people who genuinely know the business they're in, keep reading.
What You'll Own
Product definition — Author the PRD, technical specs, user flows, and scope documents. Define the MVP, data model, and integration architecture. Translate business vision and client feedback into an executable product plan.
Data architecture — Design the central data layer that consolidates information from portfolio reporting, estate planning, accounting, bill pay, and document management into a unified client data model. Make hosting, database, and security decisions for a platform handling highly sensitive financial data.
Engineering leadership — Build, manage, and lead the engineering team. Run sprint planning, delivery milestones, code review oversight, and QA standards. Set the bar for quality and hold the team to it.
Integration strategy — Own all third-party technology relationships from a technical standpoint. Evaluate API capabilities, design integration approaches, and make build-vs-buy-vs-partner decisions across every component of the platform.
AI and automation — Lay the groundwork for intelligent features on top of the unified data layer: proactive alerts, compliance monitoring, portfolio drift detection, document classification. Design the infrastructure with AI consumption in mind from day one.
Security and compliance — Define data governance standards, access controls, encryption, and the overall security model for a platform handling trust documents, tax records, estate plans, and portfolio holdings for UHNW families.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a staff engineering position. You're not writing production code eight hours a day — you run the program.
This is not a role where someone hands you a finished spec. The vision exists at a high level and the prototype demonstrates the concept, but the technical specification, data architecture, and integration strategy need to be built from scratch. You're writing the playbook, not following one.
And this is not a systems administration role. We're not looking for someone to maintain existing platforms. We're looking for someone who can take a curated set of best-in-class technologies and architect a new platform from the pieces.
Who You Are
The strongest candidates will have followed one of these paths:
- Former founder or co-founder of a wealthtech or fintech company who has been through a zero-to-one build, made the architecture decisions, and shipped a product in financial services.
- CTO or VP of Engineering at a wealthtech or financial data platform who has designed data infrastructure, built integration layers across financial systems, and delivered a product handling sensitive client data.
- Senior technical product leader at a firm serving RIAs, family offices, or institutional wealth who has owned both the product roadmap and technical architecture.
What we're looking for
- Broad familiarity with the wealth management technology landscape: portfolio reporting, custodial data and integrations, estate and tax planning workflows, accounting and bill pay, document management. Depth in one area is great; breadth across the full picture is what this role demands.
- Hands-on experience designing data infrastructure: data lakes, database architecture, ETL pipelines. You've built these systems, not just managed teams that built them.
- Strong understanding of API design, systems integration, and the practical realities of pulling data from financial services platforms — rate limits, data gaps, reconciliation challenges, vendor limitations.
- Experience with AI/ML architecture and implementation as it relates to structured financial data.
- Experience building and leading engineering teams — sprints, budgets, code review, technical direction.
- Ability to produce clear product requirements and system design documents that an engineering team can execute without ambiguity.
- Comfort operating in an early-stage environment with significant autonomy.
Nice to have: Direct experience with multi-family offices or UHNW advisory firms; familiarity with trust administration or complex estate structures; experience building in regulated industries where data security is non-negotiable.
Compensation
Compensation details are shared with qualified candidates and are highly competitive. The structure includes base salary, bonus, and incentive components — with meaningful upside tied to the success of the platform and the firm.
This is a firm where high performers are recognized and rewarded without having to ask. The leadership team is direct about this: if you come in and deliver, your role, your scope, and your compensation will grow with the business. The trajectory from here is entirely a function of what the team builds together. If that kind of environment is where you do your best work, this is a rare opportunity to prove it.
Why This Role
Over the course of their careers, Storgate's founders have managed substantial assets for some of the most complex families in the country. They know the business. What they're building with 360° addresses a real gap: sophisticated families need a unified control of their financial lives, and no existing platform delivers it at the level these clients expect.
That’s what this hire builds. It’s a rare chance to be the technical counterpart to a founding team that deeply understands the problem, with a clear market need, a defined client base, and the freedom to make the decisions that matter.
