Engineering Technician - System Planning
The principal duties and responsibilities of the Engineering Technician- System Planning consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepare system planning studies including load forecasts, determining improvements projects, cost estimates, map updates, and planning report production.
- Complete various planning analysis and studies including: new service supply plans, short circuit and system coordination, arc flash, motor start, capacitor placement, outage reports, DESR impact study, and load forecasts.
- Create, update, and maintain Client electric system maps in AutoCAD or GIS software.
- Create, update, and maintain electric system models in Milsoft or Cyme.
- Prepare technical reports including analysis summaries and system maps.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associates Degree preferred
- 0-2 years’ experience in the Electric Utility Industry
- Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills,
- Exceptional computer skills, with emphasis on AutoCAD, ArcGIS, spreadsheet, and word processing applications.
- Strong skills of time management, organizational and multi-tasking.
- This position requires the ability to listen and hear, good eyesight, sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and arms.
