We're looking for an object-oriented Senior Software Engineer who takes pride in backend development to contribute to building innovative, scalable applications in pursuit of a great user experience. You’ll help develop the next generation of residential products, apps, and services. You’ll gain experience in many different areas and have the opportunity to make a real impact to the company and real estate industry.

This position is located in Arlington, VA and is in office Monday through Thursday and work from home on Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high performance web applications used by hundreds of thousands of users globally

  • Design and develop using Object Oriented design principles and software design patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability

  • Promote consistent architecture patterns for design and development within and across Homes development teams

  • Collaborate closely with other Software Engineers across the organization.

  • Advocate standards-driven technology

  • Facilitate discussions among other .NET and database developers to exchange new ideas and improvements

  • Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar’s technology platform and development practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field)

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers

  • 5+ years of production development experience with C#, .NET (or .NET Core) and/or Java

  • Experience delivering products that meet specifications and performance SLA

  • Experienced in unit, performance, and automation testing

  • Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in relational database design (AWS RDS, MS SQL) including performance tuning

  • Experience with AWS S3, Step Functions, Lambda, SQS, Dynamo, ElastiCache, Apache Kafka and Datadog

  • A demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products and platforms
