Events and Community Engagement Manager
:
Salary range is $60,000 - $65,000 per year. Salary is based on experience.
The Events & Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and execution of special events such as the annual Champions for Children Gala, Champions for Children Lunch, Champions for Children Lunch/Dinner in Wise County, third-party events, and any additional events developed to meet revenue goals, including but not limited to developing and overseeing the execution of marketing and communication plans for these events. This position works closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to oversee the Volunteer Program and the Marketing Coordinator to create and implement a solid marketing program including social media, written and printed collateral, and branding. This position may supervise some Development team members to support the Development Plan to ensure all fundraising and outreach initiatives are met.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement annual and long-term strategic plans for annual and third-party events, including goals, budget, communications, execution, and evaluation.
- Coordinate and execute all revenue-generating aspects of the events, working with volunteer committees, and contracting with outside vendors.
- Develop and coordinate print and electronic marketing/communications content with Marketing Coordinator for consistency across all platforms.
- Direct community outreach and the Development Team's participation in special events, including preparation for, event execution, and post-event acknowledgments.
- Coordinate and participate in site visits, tours, internal, and external presentations communicating the Center's mission.
- Other duties as assigned.
Travel
This position is based in the Lewisville, TX office. The candidate must be willing to work at all offices (Bridgeport, Lewisville, and Denton) when agency needs arise and will travel to off-site events regularly. This position frequently requires evening hours and occasional weekend work.
Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in public relations, business, marketing, non-profit management, or a related field required.
Experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in events planning, accounting or database management, non-profit development, and/or another related field.
- Knowledge of Contract Compliance is preferred.
- Knowledge of Raiser's Edge, Canva, Hootsuite, and Network for Good preferred.
