• Responsible for industrial design requirements in support of NASA exhibits and events
• Ensure design activities take into account aesthetics, targeted audience(s), and NASA theme(s) and message(s)
• Report to customers on exhibit concepts and design requirements
• Accountable for the production of construction documentation and fabrication
• Prepare and design mechanical art/digital files and other graphic tasks
• Generate and track schedules, noting dependencies and anticipating workload capacity constraints
• Create estimates, select, and work with vendors
• Attend and inspect installations
• Generate routine and/or ad-hoc reports for OCOMM management/OCOMM customers
• Interface with management and/or customers, as needed

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, writing, or another appropriate area of specialization
• Must have 5 years of directly related experience
• Proficient in oral and written communications, including writing and editing
• Advanced problem-solving skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS *

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
