The Big Ass Fans Shipping Team Lead is directly responsible for the training and mentoring of our front line team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all shipments are accurately and efficiently verified against proper shipping documents, such as packing slips, pick tickets, invoices, or bills of lading. You'll serve as a player/coach and may be responsible for operating or using material handling equipment.
Responsibilities
- Observes Big Ass Fans safety procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions or security issues promptly.
- Adhere to ISO procedures and Work Instructions to ensure a high level of quality.
- Records and checks quantity and quality of goods received for conformity to purchase order and specifications.
- Able to operate and/or become certified to operate material handling equipment such as powered industrial trucks, pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies, and roll carts in order to efficiently move product from staging areas into trailers, ocean containers, and customer vehicles.
- Understands barcode technology and operates RF or computer equipment as needed.
- Collaborating with other departments when an obstacle arises or primary responsibilities have been completed.
- Ability to maintain positive work relationships with the front line and establish an environment of professional development.
- Must be willing to work shift which includes weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years previous warehouse, shipping, receiving or order selecting experience
- Knowledge of ISO Standards, OSHA, and DOT rules and regulations as they apply to warehouse receiving operations
- Able to obtain powered industrial truck (forklift) certification or be able to produce proof of prior certification or training, preferred
- Safely use all packaging and freight handling equipment associated with a receiving dock area, may include forklifts, strapping tools and equipment, RF equipment and personal computers
- Must be able to lift 40 - 70 pounds on a repetitive basis
