HVAC Technician II

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of an HVAC Technician I, including routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Assist in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of data center HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure with minimal supervision.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings to support system maintenance and repairs.
• Support air and water balancing efforts to optimize energy use and maintain occupant comfort.
• Gain hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on a variety of HVAC equipment, including:
  • Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers
  • Centrifugal and screw package chillers
  • Natural gas boilers and unit heaters
  • Electric duct heaters
  • Cooling towers
  • Pneumatic, DDC, and Variable Frequency Drive controls
  • HVAC air distribution systems, including AHUs, FCUs, fans, and related devices
  • Various types of water pumps used in HVAC applications
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor to support facility operations.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance as an essential function of the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC service experience required; 4 years preferred
• Knowledge of refrigeration principles
• Strong understanding of basic electricity as it applies to HVAC systems and diagnostic tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as schematics and blueprints
• Must be a US citizen
• Ability to obtain security clearance preferred
