Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Clinical Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hrs AM Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 4 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Experience in orthopedic services required. Experience with multiple surgical service lines required. Experience with Epic preferred. Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional responsible for coordinating patient care delivery. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients in transitioning through healthcare encounters without complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee. The RN job is for RNs in hospital inpatient and outpatient departments with 24/7 staffing. Essential functions of this role include: Clinical Judgment: Conduct accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards. Identify and prioritize patient and family needs. Develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing plan of care. Modify plans to meet clinical outcomes. Clinical Inquiry: Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice systematically. Support evidence-based practice changes through research and experiential learning. Participate in quality/performance improvement initiatives. Caring Practices: Create a compassionate, supportive, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families. Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Manage both emotional and physical pain to promote comfort and healing. Response to Diversity: Recognize, appreciate, and incorporate patient and family unique differences into an individualized plan of care. Advocacy and Moral Agency: Preserve and protect the confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients and families. Create individualized plans that reflect patient and family values and goals. Identify and help resolve ethical and clinical concerns. Facilitation of Learning: Facilitate learning for patients, families, and nursing staff. Integrate appropriate education throughout the continuum of care to promote informed decisions. Assess and document learning needs and outcomes. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues and the community to develop an integrated plan of care. Delegate tasks and ensure timely follow-up. Systems Thinking: Use strategies and resources for problem-solving. Recognize limitations of resources and consider safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care delivery. Professionalism: Improve nursing practice and work environment through participation in governance and decision-making processes. Identify personal goals and commit to ongoing professional growth through continuing education and networking. Contribute to the professional development of peers and others. Key success factors include: Knowledge and understanding of nursing and patient care standards. Familiarity with medical terminology and principles of health promotion.
