Experienced General Surgery APP needed in Mansfield, TX
Methodist Medical Group (MMG) a premier physician-led organization affiliated with Methodist Health System in Dallas, Texas, is actively seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our established General Surgery team to work collaboratively with a team of providers. The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care under the supervision and collaboration of the general surgery team. Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient management, assisting in surgical procedures, performing pre- and post-operative evaluations, and providing continuity of care to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, physical exams, and history-taking
- Assist surgeons in the operating room, including first-assist duties
- Manage inpatient rounds, progress notes, and discharge planning
- Provide outpatient care, including pre-op evaluations, post-op follow-ups, and minor procedures
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging studies
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state licensure and hospital policies
- Collaborate with surgeons, residents, nursing staff, and ancillary services to ensure coordinated patient care
- Educate patients and families regarding surgical care plans, recovery, and health maintenance
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school Physician Assistant
- Recognition as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- National board certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA).
- Surgical or acute care experience preferred
- Unrestricted Texas Medical License and DEA
- At least two (2) years of experience required
- Must be current in BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong clinical judgment, communication and teamwork skills
