Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens
• Location: Conroe, Texas 77304
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (31 beds)
• Start Date: August 18, 2025
• End Date: November 17, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Dress Code: Royal Blue
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,350 - $1,380 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Strong clinical skills in critical thinking and patient prioritization
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Friendly, outgoing personality with a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to float to Medical Surgical Telemetry as needed
• Preferred: Charge nurse experience and ultrasound IV skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in a 31-bed Medical/Surgical unit
• Manage patient ratios of 1:6 for optimal clinical support
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including RNs, CNAs, and sitters
• Utilize computer on wheels and Meditech EMR for accurate documentation
• Perform nursing procedures such as paracentesis and chest tube insertion
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to unit guidelines and hospital policies
• Participate in every other weekend rotation as required
• Maintain a positive, supportive environment for patients and healthcare staff
