We are seeking an accomplished Enterprise Architect with deep Oracle Retail & Merchandising Cloud (MCSC) expertise to lead complex architecture design and delivery for a global retail leader. In this newly created role, you will play a pivotal role in driving the client’s transformation to Oracle MCSC, shaping scalable enterprise solutions, and serving as a trusted technology advisor to both technical stakeholders and executive decision-makers. You will work closely with internal consulting leaders and client business executives to lead the full lifecycle from planning and architecture through delivery and optimization. Major Objectives

1. Architect and Deploy End‑to‑End Oracle MCSC Ecosystem Solutions – Within the first 90 days, lead the enterprise architecture design for the Oracle Retail and Merchandising Cloud Services (MCSC) platform, aligning with client business objectives and integration needs. Define the high‑level blueprint, ensure architecture scalability, and partner with delivery teams to guide successful deployment across merchandising and supply chain systems. Deliverables include reference architectures, API design strategies, and technical alignment documents.
2. Become the Strategic Advisor to Executive Stakeholders – By 120 days, establish credibility and trusted advisor status with client VPs and executives by presenting architecture tradeoffs, guiding cloud transformation strategies, and providing strategic roadmaps. Facilitate executive workshops, translate business needs into architecture options, and influence prioritization of key platform decisions.
3. Build Scalable Consulting Frameworks for Repeatable Architecture Success – By month six, develop re‑usable architectural frameworks, playbooks, and templates that enable consistent Oracle retail solution delivery across other client engagements. Lead internal knowledge sharing sessions to upskill teams on best practices in Oracle MCSC, merchandising domain models, and consulting‑led architecture delivery.

Critical Subtasks

1. Lead Technical Discovery and Environment Assessment – Within the first 30 days, conduct deep technical discovery of the client’s existing architecture, data flows, integration points, and merchandising processes. Synthesize findings into a comprehensive “Current State” baseline with documented risks, constraints, and high‑level gaps compared to Oracle MCSC target capabilities.
2. Align Architecture with Business Use Cases and Operational Goals – Translate complex merchandising workflows and business priorities into architectural decisions that ensure alignment with Oracle MCSC capabilities. Facilitate design workshops and develop solution traceability matrices to validate how architecture enables specific business scenarios and success criteria.
3. Define Integration and Data Migration Strategy – Develop a robust architecture approach for integrating Oracle MCSC with adjacent systems (e.g., supply chain, finance, e‑commerce). Within 60 days, deliver a migration plan and integration architecture that minimizes business disruption, ensures data integrity, and supports cloud‑first performance requirements.
4. Support Hands‑On Solution Engineering and Configuration Oversight – Serve as a technical escalation point during key phases of implementation. Work closely with functional consultants, engineers, and external vendors to validate configuration decisions, API calls, and orchestration layers. Step in hands‑on where necessary to resolve architectural blockers.
5. Represent Architecture in Governance and Change Management Forums – Participate in enterprise architecture boards, steering committees, and governance councils. Present solution updates, gain approval for design changes, and proactively raise risk items or dependency conflicts. Document decisions to ensure traceability and knowledge continuity.
6. Mentor Internal Teams on Oracle Retail Cloud Architecture Best Practices – Within the first 180 days, develop and deliver enablement sessions for client and internal team members. Provide guidance on architecture patterns, performance considerations, and Oracle retail metadata structures. Drive a culture of continuous learning and architecture excellence within the organization.
7. Continuously Evaluate and Integrate AI to Improve Performance – Within the first 90–180 days, take ownership of identifying how AI and automation tools can support or enhance the core responsibilities of this role. Evaluate tasks that could be streamlined or improved using AI, lead pilots, and embed continuous AI adoption into daily work. Examples may include AI‑assisted demand forecasting, NLP‑based documentation generation, or architecture validation tools.
