Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a TX or compact RN license, with at least 2 years of experience across multiple surgical specialties including pediatrics.

Details

• Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting within a hospital
• Patient population includes adult and pediatric surgical cases across ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental, GYN, and peds ENT (T&A, BMT, etc.)
• All surgical specialties except cardiac
• Requires experience monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and A-lines
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (9:00–17:30)
• On-call required
• Coverage assistance in Pre-Op required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric patients required
• Critical care background strongly preferred
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Experience recovering patients across ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental (adult and peds), GYN, and peds ENT required
• 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana — a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions
• Candidates should avoid any substances that could result in a positive drug screen prior to arrival, including CBD products
