Procurement Manager (A Group UPD)-Houston,TX Location Houston, TX : Purpose of the Position Lead negotiation and bidding processes with strong analytical and pricing skills. Analyze and mitigate risks while ensuring compliance with processes and regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success. Develop and maintain client/supplier relationships with a focus on sustainability and ethical practices. Problem-solving ownership for unexpected procurement challenges. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Team & Project Leadership: Manage the UPD team and act as the primary interface for cross-functional coordination. Oversee project management (track PO/ETA status, procurement records, and timelines). 2. Sourcing & Supplier Management: Conduct local sourcing, vendor qualification, and on-site audits. Strengthen supplier relationships (performance, sustainability, and ethical compliance). 3. Negotiation & Cost Control: Lead terms & price negotiations, bidding processes, and contract management. Perform cost analysis and implement cost-saving strategies. 4. Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure adherence to regulations and company policies. Proactively identify and resolve risks in procurement activities. 5. Reporting & Collaboration: Generate data-driven reports (spend analysis, supplier performance). Collaborate with stakeholders (finance, legal, operations) to align procurement goals. Education and Work Experience ~ Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field. ~5-10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management & Procurement Management. ~ Project management experience preferred Supervision Reports to UPD Manager. Working Conditions Office-based role in a fast-paced environment. Must be available for after-hours emergencies and work overtime to meet critical deadlines.
