Engineering Technician, Cell Abuse Lab
Tesla's Battery Cells Team is at the forefront of innovation, designing and validating ground-up cell architectures with state-of-the-art performance for all Tesla products. As an Engineering Technician in the Cell Abuse Lab, you will play a critical role in supporting cutting-edge technologies by developing, building, and executing abuse tests. Your work will provide rapid feedback to inform engineering decisions, ensuring the highest safety standards before products reach customers. This fast-paced and exciting environment demands passion, self-motivation, and strong communication skills to collaborate with engineering groups across various disciplines. What You'll Do Utilize specialized equipment to test and validate cells under electrical, mechanical, and thermal stressesPerform complex destructive testing and gather data from various sensorsConduct post-test teardown inspections and collect data for further analysisMaintain test equipment and data collection toolsTroubleshoot data acquisition systems and sensorsCollaborate with other teams on sample builds, preparation, and instrumentationFollow and edit standard operating procedures What You'll Bring High awareness of safety hazards, procedures, and best practicesExperience with a variety of hand and power toolsAbility to learn new test procedures and softwareExceptional attention to detailExcellent teamwork and interpersonal skillsEager to learn, independently motivated, and proactiveDegree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience Benefits
