We are seeking a skilled MIG welder with experience using .035 wire to weld light-gauge steel, including 14, 16, and 12 gauge red (plain) and galvanized materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding thin materials with precision, maintaining structural integrity while minimizing distortion and burn-through.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform MIG welding using.035 wire on 14 Ga, 16 Ga, and 12 Ga red and galvanized steel materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding symbols.
- Set up welding equipment, including voltage, wire feed speed, and gas flow for optimal results on thin material.
- Inspect welds to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
- Grind, clean, and prep metal as needed to ensure strong weld joints.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all company safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in MIG welding, especially on light gauge steel.
Ability to work with galvanized materials without compromising weld quality.
Familiarity with.035 wire setup and thin material welding techniques.
Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
High school diploma or GED preferred; welding certification is a plus.
Experience in a production or manufacturing environment is a plus. AWS certification is optional but preferred. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
