Principal - Power Generation

Seeking highly experienced, Texas based, Power Generation Engineer or Project Manager with market focused experience to develop business opportunities, provide technical leadership and provide high level project oversight.

The Power Generation Principal must possess significant proven expertise in all areas outlined below.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has a primary outward market focus and is an individual contributor and influencer to the team. The Principal of Power Generation will be responsible for generating top-line revenue annually that delivers profitability, oversee project management activities of projects and serve as a technical liaison between Client and team to resolve any issues.

Business Development/Marketing
  • Prepare a market focused business development plan/strategy focused on growth and maintenance for the areas assigned identifying projects, and sales objectives achieve the plan.
  • Develop strategies to maintain existing Clients and establish strong relationships with new Clients.
  • Maintain an active role in professional Client-related activities.
  • Prepare proposals with project managers and marketing staff including coordinating proposal development activities during project bidding phase including execution planning, scheduling, cost preparation, procurement planning, contract review and negotiations.
  • Assist in the development of marketing collateral to support market development.
Quality and Project Management
  • Oversee project management activities of projects and personnel under their guidance and supervision. Support the Project Managers with best practices, risk management, and conflict resolution. Stewards project to ensure project objectives regarding safety, schedule, budget, scope, code compliance, environmental compliance, and quality are met through metrics and benchmarking.
  • Assist Senior Management in the preparation and updating of expected revenue projections and projecting expected staffing needs
  • May oversee billing process and collection of projects and Clients under their assignment.
  • Assist Senior Management, Project Managers, Director / Division Manager with QA/QC of all engineering and consulting work within the team. May act as senior contact for the firm with key Clients /key projects.
  • Coordinates and leads Project review meetings with the owner and/or partner(s).
  • Reports monthly, or as requested, to the Owner, stakeholders, and Projects Group Management.
  • Delivers effective communication to all internal and external customers (Project Team, Owner, Partners, Vendors, etc.), including reporting regarding performance metrics and progress related to Power Generation.
General Administration
  • Build and maintain Client satisfaction for SEnergy’s range of services provided for the Client under their influence
  • Assist senior management with the delivery of annual performance reviews.
  • Review and execute contracts with dollar amounts and priority critical review and process as delegated by the CEO.
  • Provide support and motivation to the Power Generation team including providing mentorship to grow our people and culture promotion to maintain SE as a great place to work.
  • Provide high level oversight to project execution providing resolution to issues.
  • Leads in the development and dissemination of advanced business practices related to their field and innovative solutions.
  • Complete accurate timesheets daily.
  • Various other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 10 years’ experience in managing power generation projects
EXPERIENCE:
  • Possess strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills and able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • PE license or PMP certification.
  • Experience in Owner’s Engineering Services with ability to manage the Client.
SKILLS:
  • Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills, exceptional computer skills, with emphasis in project management, spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Strong skills of time management, organizational and multi-tasking.
PHYSICAL:
  • This position requires the ability to listen and hear, good eyesight, sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and arms.
