Mainframe System Operator I (Remote)

This position is a job family; there are four levels to the position.
Level I
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the completion of scheduled computer-processing jobs.
TYPICAL DUTIES Communicates with members, employees and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
Operates the installed mainframe computer and client server computers and peripheral equipment.
Performs basic preventive maintenance on the installed equipment as specified by the equipment vendor.
Maintain and write computer operations procedures in the Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
Ensures that the installed equipment operates properly, is cleaned, that filters, etc. are replaced as prescribed by the equipment vendor and service calls are placed when necessary.
Ensures that an accurate turnover takes place after shift.
Communicates with programming staff in case of software problems.
Maintains attentive and responsive communication with other Operators and internal staff using a variety of communication tools.
Imports and exports statistical data to specified databases.
Logs nightly and morning job activities into shift report for auditor purposes.
Enters all operational statistics to specified databases.
Executes computer run requests in a timely manner.
Ensures that reports are properly archived into system.
Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU's established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).
Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.

Level IV
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Associates degree in CIS or equivalent related field with one year similar or related experience.
Requires up to 10 pounds, reaching above and below shoulder level continuously, lifting up to 35 pounds, bending, squatting and kneeling frequently, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY Providing quality service is the primary responsibility of this position. Quality service means treating members and coworkers with respect and courtesy at all levels whether in person or by telephone as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Required availability: Monday - Friday: 6:30 am - 7:00 pm
Rotating on call schedule. Training period may involve overnight hours.
