Staff Accountant - MPC Accounting

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Staff Accountant is responsible for property accounting and preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports by compiling information, preparing and analyzing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. This position will also be responsible for applying General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to reviewing and approving capital asset additions, disposals, adjustments, depreciation, and allocations.
What You Will Do
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for all financial reporting. Support process improvements by implementing and documenting internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Invoice & Payment Processing
Process job cost invoices and real estate tax payments. Code and log contractor pay applications, track them in the Cash Projections spreadsheet, and obtain required documentation for progress and final payments.
Operational Support & Special Projects
Contribute to department initiatives through special projects and additional duties as assigned, supporting efficiency and accuracy across accounting operations.

Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
3+ years of accounting experience; Real Estate industry experience preferred.
Experience with ERP systems, e.g., Coupa, and JDE preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related products.
Familiarity with, and eagerness to explore and integrate, emerging technologies (e.g. AI and blockchain etc.) to drive innovation and continuous learning.
