Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Job Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit
• Location: Live Oak, TX 78233 (San Antonio area)
• Assignment Start Date: August 6, 2025
• Assignment End Date: November 5, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekend Shifts: 4 per 4-week schedule
• Dress Code: Olive/Sage top, black bottom; OR scrubs for COVID unit
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1230–$1270

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of ICU Respiratory Therapy experience
• Strong teamwork and positive attitude
• Ability to float and work throughout the hospital facility

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Perform ventilator and BiPAP checks
• Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis
• Administer hand-held nebulizer treatments and chest physiotherapy (CPT) via MetaNeb or vest
• Monitor oxygen therapy and nitric oxide administration
• Care for 4-6 ventilated ICU patients and manage 30-40 unit of service assignments
• Utilize advanced respiratory equipment: GE Carescape R860 ventilator, PB 840 ventilator, Philips V60/Vision BiPAP, MetaNeb, Vapotherm, Max-Venturi HFNC
• Document patient care in Meditech EMR system
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
