Senior Web Developer - USA

Position Summary:
The Senior Web Developer will work in conjunction with the EGID team to create high-quality, dynamic and responsive Websites that educate the public about Oklahoma state government and connect them with digital services. This individual will also ensure that the sites meet state and federal accessibility regulations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with strategic business units to identify business needs for Web content and develops Websites, documents and other electronic information resources to accessibility standards.
- Coordinates with agencies to test and report on the accessibility of Websites, forms, electronic documents and applications to meet accessibility standards.
- Assists in establishing philosophy, standards and processes that put agencies in a leadership position as it relates to accessibility and usability of information technology.
- Assists in improving and stimulating interest in accessibility including serving on workgroups, providing training, consulting services and technical assistance to plan, implement and monitor accessibility of electronic and information resources.
- Assists in researching and establishing optimization protocols and technical methods within agencies to assure coordination and facilitation of accessibility and policy technical assistance services.
- Assists to perform data analysis, implement and evaluate policy and accessibility projects and prepare studies, specialized research projects and administrative reports.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from a 4-year college or university with 9 semester hours in programming and 3 years of
experience in business applications, web design, consulting, or development. Experience in the field of work
related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Valued Skills and Experience:
- Content Management Systems (Drupal, WordPress)
- Experience working on high traffic, enterprise-class websites
- PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, Java, JavaScript/jQuery
- Strong understanding of MySQL database setup and tuning
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to Drupal or Drupal community modules
- Experience building responsive, progressive enhancement, mobile first websites
- Experience with views, panels, mini panels, panelizers
- Experience with Features and Drush, and using both in deployment workflows
- Ability to create custom feed importers, data migration experience
- Experience with a GIT/source control
- W3C Web standards, WAI, ADA & Sections 508 and 504 compliance
- IT (Information Technology) experience
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position works in a comfortable office
setting with a computer for a large percentage of the work day. The noise level in the work environment is
usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.
