Lead Software Developer

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a fast-growing technology company in the Dallas, TX area, for a Lead Software Developer to help drive the architecture and delivery of key product platforms. This is a chance to take technical ownership of high-impact projects while mentoring a talented engineering team and shaping how the organization builds software going forward.

Day to day, you will split time between hands-on coding, architectural decision-making, and guiding fellow developers through code reviews and design discussions. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, enjoys solving hard technical problems, and takes pride in shipping clean, well-tested, scalable code alongside a motivated team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of scalable software applications and services
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Mentor and guide mid-level and junior developers through code reviews and pairing
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and architectural patterns
  • Drive technical decision-making for new features and system improvements
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and agile ceremonies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across the stack
  • Evaluate and integrate new tools, frameworks, and technologies as needed
  • Oversee CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes for the team
  • Partner with QA to ensure high standards of software quality and reliability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • 2+ years in a technical leadership or lead developer capacity
  • Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#
  • Experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Strong communication skills and ability to mentor other engineers
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
