ONSITE | FORT WORTH, TX | CONTRACT TO HIRE.

We’re partnering with a respected organization seeking an experienced Payroll Director to take ownership of a multi-state, union, and per diem payroll operation. This is a fully onsite position for a detail-oriented professional who is confident with UKG (UltiPro) and passionate about accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and takes initiative to identify issues before they become problems.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and process complex, multi-state payroll including union and per diem employees.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws , taxes, and wage/hour regulations.
• Oversee UKG (UltiPro) payroll system setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Handle GL setup, reconciliation, and journal entries related to payroll.
• Partner closely with HR and Accounting to ensure accuracy across systems.
• Audit payroll data regularly and implement process improvements.
• Maintain confidentiality while ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery.

What We’re Looking For:

• 10+ years of payroll management experience in a multi-state environment.
• CPP certification (or in progress).
• UKG (UltiPro) proficiency required.
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxation, and compliance .
• Experience with union payrolls and per diem pay structures, REQUIRED .
• Hands-on experience with GL setup and reconciliation .
• Exceptional attention to detail, integrity, and initiative.
• Ability to thrive in a fully onsite, fast-paced environment.
