Nurse Practitioner / Physician Associate

Kairos
San Antonio, TX

ABOUT KAIROS

Kairos helps people reclaim their lives from pain—physically, mentally, and emotionally—through clarity, speed, and integrity. We are building a premium, integrated recovery model where clients receive clear assessment, plain-language education, coordinated care, and measurable progress across pain, movement, function, sleep, stress, and recovery capacity.

We do not sell visits. We create clarity, protect trust, and coordinate the right next step at the right moment. Our standard is fast, calm, measurable: move with urgency, stay composed, document accurately, and keep the team aligned around one coordinated plan.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Kairos is hiring a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Associate for our Clinical / Integrated Recovery team in San Antonio, TX. This role is available as full-time, part-time, or PRN and reports to the Vice President.

This is a clinical provider and care-plan leadership role inside the Kairos Integrated Recovery Model. The right provider will help clients understand contributors to pain, dysfunction, stress load, recovery limitation, and reduced quality of life, then translate assessment findings into evidence-informed recommendations that support pain reduction, movement quality, function, recovery capacity, and long-term resilience.

MISSION

Serve as a trusted clinical provider inside the Kairos Integrated Recovery Model by creating clinical clarity, identifying priorities and safety concerns, building ethical recommendations, and coordinating care with the full Kairos team so each client leaves with a plan they can understand and a team they can trust.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and ongoing clinical assessments within your scope of practice.

  • Identify clinical priorities, red flags, contraindications, referral needs, scope concerns, and appropriate next steps.

  • Develop individualized recommendations focused on pain reduction, movement quality, function, recovery capacity, and overall health.

  • Educate patients in plain language so they understand findings, options, risks, recommendations, and measurable next steps.

  • Collaborate with PT, recovery, bodywork, and patient experience teams to ensure each receives clear, aligned care across every touchpoint.

  • Participate in case reviews, clinical pathway refinement, service-line development, and outcome tracking.

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold regulatory, clinical, and Kairos brand standards.

  • Protect continuity through clean handoffs: who owns the next step, what must happen, and by when.

YOUR ROLE IN ACTION

You will meet patients who may be frustrated, skeptical, overwhelmed, or tired of guessing. Your job is to slow the uncertainty down without slowing the care down. You will assess, explain, recommend, document, and coordinate with calm urgency.

On a strong day, patients feel safe, seen, and certain. The care team knows what you found, what matters now, what the next step is, and what must be watched. Leadership sees disciplined documentation, appropriate utilization, clean escalation, and a provider who improves the system rather than adding complexity.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

This is both a clinical and leadership role. The right candidate will deliver excellent patient-centered care while helping Kairos build consistent, scalable integrative health systems. Success in this role includes timely clinical documentation, strong informed consent practices, careful monitoring of patient outcomes and safety, clear communication with patients and the supervising physician, and active leadership in developing SOPs, workflows, team training, and patient education materials across Kairos locations.

WHO THRIVES HERE

This role is for a provider who wants more than a license-based seat. The right person is clinically grounded, calm under pressure, precise with documentation, direct in communication, and committed to measurable progress over assumptions.

  • You communicate complex findings in plain language.

  • You protect patient trust above ego, convenience, volume, or unsupported claims.

  • You are comfortable working in a multidisciplinary care model rather than a clinical silo.

  • You move quickly without becoming frantic and stay accurate under pressure.

  • You document thoroughly because continuity, safety, and trust depend on it.

  • You value clean handoffs and do not let ambiguity linger.

  • You are energized by clinical impact, pathway improvement, and a high-standard team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must meet the credential requirements for either the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate pathway.

Nurse Practitioner Pathway

Physician Associate Pathway

  • Active Texas RN license and active Texas APRN / Nurse Practitioner license.

  • Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

  • Current board certification.

  • Current BLS required; ACLS preferred when applicable.

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Associate program.

  • Active Physician Assistant/Associate license in Texas.

  • Current NCCPA certification or eligibility for certification.

  • Current BLS required; ACLS preferred when applicable.

Required for All Candidates: Active Texas licensure in good standing, current BLS, DEA registration where applicable, prescriptive authority where applicable, and ability to practice within approved scope and supervision/collaboration requirements.

Preferred experience includes three or more years in primary care, family medicine, pain management, musculoskeletal care, sports medicine, orthopedics, physical medicine, rehabilitation, integrative medicine, or a related field. Experience in collaborative, multidisciplinary care environments is strongly valued.

COMPENSATION

Salary range: $90,000 to $120,000 for full-time employment, calibrated to licensure pathway, experience, specialty relevance, schedule, and leadership contribution. Part-time and PRN compensation will be hourly and calibrated to schedule, licensure pathway, experience, and scope.

Any performance-related structure must protect clinical ethics, patient trust, and appropriate care. Kairos does not reward over-treatment, unsupported claims, or pressure-based recommendations.

SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS

This role requires a consistent in-clinic presence to support patient care, clinical workflow, team training, provider collaboration, and service-line leadership.

While Kairos values planning, communication, and reasonable flexibility where the business and patient care model allow, this is not a remote, fully flexible, or make-your-own-hours schedule role.

The right candidate understands that leadership in an integrated care environment requires availability, reliability, and visible team support. Schedule expectations will be discussed clearly during the interview process so both Kairos and the candidate can confirm alignment before moving forward.

BENEFITS

  • Low-pressure, client-centered clinical environment.

  • Competitive compensation based on employment status, schedule, and scope.

  • 401(k).

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • HSA/FSA options.

  • Life and disability insurance.

  • Paid time off.

  • Employee assistance program.

  • Flexible scheduling options.

  • Opportunities for advancement.

GROWTH PATH

Growth at Kairos is tied to measurable contribution, patient trust, documentation reliability, care-team confidence, pathway improvement, and leadership readiness. A strong provider can grow from role mastery into a senior clinical contributor, service-line lead, integrated recovery pathway owner, or future clinical leadership role as Kairos scales without dilution.

APPLY NOW

Apply if you want to practice in a high-standard, integrated recovery environment where clients receive clarity, the team moves together, and outcomes are measured. Kairos is looking for a provider who can help patients say: “They gave me a plan I could understand.”

To apply, please submit your resume and complete the required application questions through the hiring platform.

As part of the application process, candidates must also submit a brief video (two to three minutes) explaining why this role strongly fits their experience, clinical judgment, leadership style, and patient care philosophy.

The video does not need to be professionally produced. We are looking for clear communication, alignment with the Kairos standard, and a thoughtful explanation of how the candidate’s approach fits this position.

Please email your video submission to:

[email protected]

Applications will be considered complete once the resume, required application responses, and video submission have been received.

Candidates who need a reasonable accommodation or alternative submission method may contact Kairos at the email above for assistance.
