Salary Range: $42,000- $48,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications. Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt. Required Application Materials: Resume and Cover Letter are required. Essential Functions Job Summary Function: To coordinate and/or direct the administration of a large department or unit. Scope: Responsible for fiscal, budgetary, personnel, faculty and other administrative matters of a department or unit. Makes complex administrative decisions requiring a thorough knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures. Duties Typical:

• Supporting Associate Dean with Graduate Studies budget.
• Processing of funded doctoral student appointments, notice of awards, and interaction with all departments and strategic partners in the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) Business Service Center (BSC) and serve as the primary point of contact with The Graduate School, Strategic Enrollment, and Financial Aid offices in matters associated with graduate student funding.
• Overseeing student travel, as well as travel of Graduate Studies staff (Associate Dean, Assistant Director, Student Development Specialists)
• Support undergraduate studies in areas related to undergraduate student support, including Notice of Award processing
• Administrative operation and management of scholar hub in collaboration with COEHD Business Service Center and Scholarship Committee.
• Basic administrative activities in collaboration with the Associate Dean and Assistant Director.
• Other duties as assigned.

Periodic:

• Provides counsel to administrator on departmental or institutional matters.
• Makes arrangements for official guests and receives them in the absence of the administrator.
• Performs annual evaluations of assigned clerical staff.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Nine years of increasingly responsible administrative, clerical or office experience.
• At the department's discretion, a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for five years of experience.
• Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in everyday work situations while utilizing independent judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Similar experience with five or more years in higher education.
• One or more years of supervisory experience.

Working Conditions

This position will require working both remotely in Texas and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
